Mustang Engine & Transmission Install NIGHTMARES!

In this episode, we dive headfirst into prepping and installing the freshly built 306 engine in our Fox Body Mustang project. Things get off to a rocky start with a broken pressure plate bolt in the flywheel, but we manage to fix it and keep moving. With the bellhousing secured, we install the PCV valve, three temperature sensors, fuel injectors, and fuel rail to get the engine ready to drop into the car. Dropping the engine in brings its own challenges—I second-guess the motor mount orientation, swap them, and later have to switch them back. Then comes the T5 transmission install, which proves to be an adventure. My DIY transmission jack almost becomes a deathtrap (twice), and we run into a major issue: the clutch fork is bent and failing to disengage the clutch. After replacing it, we attempt the install again, only to find stripped threads in the bellhousing. A quick thread repair kit saves the day, and on the third attempt, the transmission finally bolts up properly with the crossmember installed. This video is packed with real-world challenges, lessons learned, and step-by-step fixes that any Mustang or DIY engine enthusiast can relate to. Whether you’re tackling your own Fox Body Mustang build, installing a 306 engine, or dealing with transmission headaches, you’ll find plenty of tips and tricks here.
